SongPad allows you to add collaborators to your song. A collaborator has full access to edit the song and add more collaborators. Collaborators can't delete a song, only an owner can do that, but they can change almost anything else. You should be sure you can trust a collaborator before you add them to your song.

When you add collaborators you will all be able to edit the song at the same time. If two or more people have the lyric editor open you will see an indicator that tells you when another person is typing. The changes they make will appear on your screen as they type and your screen with lock so you don't accidentally mess up what they are doing. As soon as they stop typing you will be able to make changes again.

Share a song with collaborators

Sharing a song so that other people can work on it with you is very straightforward. Before you begin, your collaborators will need to be registered on SongPad and you will need to know the email address they signed up with. Once you have their emails follow these steps:

  1. Open the song you want to share in SongPad

  2. Click on the "Share" button on the menu bar in the top right corner of the screen

  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to add as a collaborator in the input box and click "Add"

  4. You will see their name listed under the "people with access" heading

  5. They will now see the song in their SongPad dashboard and you can work on it together

  6. If you want to remove their access to your song you can open the share popup again and click the "Remove" button next to their name in the list of people with access.
